The Fanduel Kick of Destiny 2 campaign is the sequel to last years Fanduel Kick of Destiny, at which Rob Gronkowski attempted to kick a field goal at the Super Bowl halftime show. Unfortunately, he missed the field goal, but this year he gets a chance at redemption. Just like last year, Fanduel users have the opportunity to place bets on whether or not he will make the field goal.
I was tasked with creating a lockup for this years campaign logo. We explored the options of simply adding a “2” to last years lockup, upgrading last years lockup with either 3D or graphic novel aesthetics, and creating an entirely new logo. Given that this year’s Super Bowl takes place in Las Vegas, we also toyed with the idea that the new logo includes some visual hints to the city’s aesthetic.
Shown below is the official poster [which I did not make] and a wheat-pasted ad both with the final logo, notable attempts at the final logo and then the approved final logo [the one with the 2 inside the football]. The merch was discontinued.
